There are four kind of trains in south korea, KTX and Saemul are two fastest trains and are the most luxurious the 3rd one is called Mungungwa that offers a similar comfort like the first two and is a little longer to enjoy the ride. The fourth kind of train is Tonggeun which is the least expensive one, it can be good if your out for a few errands and it runs quite often. For any long distancing traveling it would be best to take the bus. if you are taking the bus then make sure to get their right on time; the exact time it says on the paper is the exact time the bus will depart. some train stations have been around before 1999.there are a few ferries available if you wanted to visit some of the islands.
